We design and build private four-season sauna and spa retreats for cottages, chalets and estates across Georgian Bay. One team, one point of contact, one deliberately calm way of working.

Georgian Steam Co began where every project still begins - on a piece of shoreline, in a pair of boots, before a single line is drawn. After more than a decade building across cottage country, the studio was founded to make one specific thing well: private four-season retreats that hold the Nordic rhythm of heat, cold and rest.
We are small on purpose. One studio team runs each project from first walk-through to first fire - fewer hand-offs, clearer decisions, calmer sites, and materials chosen to age quietly on the bay.
The work is rooted in the belief that a sauna should feel like part of the land it sits on: cedar that silvers in the sun, black timber that disappears against the pines, and a layout that follows the view rather than fight it. Every retreat is designed for its exact property, its exact family, and the long winters and bright summers of Georgian Bay.

Granite, pines, snow-loaded winters, wide summer light. Our details, materials and mechanicals are chosen for this landscape - not adapted from somewhere else. It's the reason our retreats settle into a property rather than sit on it.
We live and build across Collingwood, Meaford, Thornbury, Blue Mountain and Georgian Bay - the materials, the weather and the lifestyle.
One team from first walk-through to first fire. Fewer hand-offs, clearer decisions, calmer projects.
Cedar, stone, black-stained timber, blackened steel and brushed brass - chosen to patina, not to date.
Most of our work comes from past clients and their neighbours. That's the only metric we trust.
