The Process

Quiet from the first call
to the first sauna session.

Five stages, one studio team, and a calm cadence. Most projects move from first conversation to first sauna session in one to four months, depending on scope and permitting.

Stage 01 - Walk-through & vision, concept imagery
01Stage

Walk-through & vision

We visit your property, find the view, and talk rituals, family use and budget. Nothing is drawn yet - just careful listening and a shared sense of what quiet looks like on your land.

Realistic

Note: usually a single unhurried on-site visit, or a video walk-through for out-of-town clients.

Stage 02 - Concept & design, concept imagery
02Stage

Concept & design

Plans, 3D visuals and materials palette. We resolve the layout, the glass wall, the heater, and how each ritual actually moves through the space.

Realistic

One concept, refined with you - not three options designed to be discarded.

Stage 03 - Permits & approvals, concept imagery
03Stage

Permits & approvals

Building permits, and where relevant conservation authority and shoreline approvals. Zoning, setbacks, septic and waterfront considerations - all managed by us so the process stays calm on your end.

Realistic

Permitting timelines are set by the municipality and conservation authority, not by us; we plan around them honestly.

Stage 04 - The build, concept imagery
04Stage

The build

One studio team, a deliberately calm site and clear weekly updates. Foundations, framing, cladding, glass, mechanical, interiors and landscape - coordinated end-to-end.

Realistic

A tidy site and a weekly update rhythm - you'll never wonder where things stand.

Stage 05 - First fire, concept imagery
05Stage

First fire

Commissioning, orientation to your heater, plunge and systems, and your first quiet session. We stay close after handover for the first season, so the retreat settles into daily life without friction.

Realistic

We stay reachable after handover. The first cold plunge takes some courage.

Timeline

Four to eight months, first call to first fire.
